Bianconeri rely on own goal
An own goal from Paolo Castellini helped ten-man Juventus claim just their second win in seven games at Stadio Ennio Tardini.

The defender headed into his own goal after the hosts had failed to clear a corner, with the 30-year-old only able to steer the ball past the helpless Antonio Mirante.

Hasan Salihamidzic had headed Juve into an early lead before veteran forward Nicola Amoruso grabbed an equaliser for Parma.

The visitors were looking to keep the pressure on Serie A leaders Inter Milan and got the perfect start as they took the lead in just the third minute. A deep corner was headed goalwards by defender Giorgio Chiellini and Salihamidzic was ideally placed to nod home his second goal of the season from close range.

That goal led to an extended period of Juve pressure, with right-back Martin Caceres offering superb support with several energetic bursts down the flank.

French forward David Trezeguet had a chance to extend the lead but his weak header was comfortably dealt with by Mirante.

But Parma soon recovered their composure and began to string together some promising attacks and Jonathan Biabiany forced Alex Manninger into his first meaningful save of the game with a powerful drive from the right edge of the penalty area.

Juventus were then dealt a blow as Trezeguet was forced to limp off after just 18 minutes, the France international landed awkwardly after going for a high ball with Christian Panucci, with Amauri replacing the 32-year-old.

Things got worse for Ciro Ferrara's side as former Juventus player Amoruso netted an equaliser for Parma (24).

Damiano Zenoni delivered an excellent cross to the near post after good work by David Lanzafame, and Amoruso was unmarked as he headed past a motionless Manninger.

Caceres was then booked after a late tackle on Biabiany and the home side, boosted by their equaliser, gradually took control of the game.

Amoruso went close to giving them the lead but the 35-year-old's dipping volley was turned over the crossbar by Manninger.

But Castellini's misjudgement gave the visitors a lead they barely deserved. The home defence were unable to cope with an inswinging corner and as the ball bobbled through a crowd of players the defender was unable to prevent himself heading into the top corner (38).

The game tightened up after the break with Juventus seemingly happy to protect their slender lead.

Zenoni connected superbly with a poor headed clearance but Chiellini bravely blocked his fizzing volley.

At the other end Amauri failed to latch onto an intelligent pull-back by Diego, while Salihamidzic fired wide from distance.

Juventus' relative comfort was dealt a blow when Caceres was shown a second yellow card for a lunge on Cristian Zaccardo after 72 minutes.

The dismissal saw Diego withdrawn for Zdenek Grygera and the Czech defender's expertise was desperately needed as Parma laid siege to Manninger's goal.

The excellent Amoruso fired wide after being teed up by substitute Valeri Bojinov, while Zaccardo's long-range drive was comfortably saved by Manninger.

Bojinov then struck the wall with a free-kick during six minutes of stoppage time, but Juventus held on for a much-needed win to lift the pressure on Ferrara.

Serie A : AC Milan 5 - 2 Genoa Borriello shines at San Siro

AC Milan moved back into second place in Serie A thanks to a convincing win over Genoa which also marked the return of David Beckham to the Rossoneri.
In front of England manager Fabio Capello, Beckham played a strong 75 minutes, slotting back into the Milan team he represented 18 times last year as if he had never been away.
Giuseppe Sculli gave Genoa the lead in the 25th minute, but a penalty from Ronaldinho, who had missed an earlier spot-kick, brought the home team level in the 32nd minute.

Thiago Silva gave Milan the lead at the break before two goals from Marco Borriello early in the second half and a penalty from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar put the game beyond Genoa, who grabbed a 79th-minute consolation from David Suazo
Beckham was straight into the action, whipping in a cross from the right wing which Borriello nudged towards goal, but Marco Amelia made an excellent reaction save to deny him, making up for his own error in finding the England midfielder with a poor clearance.
Milan had the chance to go ahead in the 13th minute when Massimo Ambrosini went down in the penalty area as he attempted to take the ball past Giuseppe Biava.
Ambrosini seemed to look for the penalty and perhaps it was a case of justice being done when Ronaldinho's tame kick was saved by Amelia.
Beckham opened the scoring when these two sides met last January and he was given the chance to do so again in the 16th minute, but Ambrosini's pass forced the England international a bit wide and his shot did not trouble Amelia's goal.
Genoa were trying to make a game of it and they were rewarded with the opening goal in the 25th minute.
The lively Mesto guided Palacio to the goal line from where he sent in a low ball across the face of goal to an unmarked Sculli at the far post, and he headed in the opener from close range.
Milan were level in the 32nd minute when a well-worked move involving Beckham and Borriello put Ambrosini through, and he took another tumble as he nudged the ball past Amelia.
Again, the Italy international seemed to be looking for the penalty, but Ronaldinho this time took the invitation to send Amelia the wrong way from the spot and bring the home side level.
And Milan went ahead in the 38th minute when Thiago Silva beat Amelia and the covering Genoa defenders from eight yards.
Milan did not have to wait too long before extending their lead with Borriello getting his name on the scoresheet three minutes into the second half.
A perfectly-weighted ball from Ronaldinho sent Antonini to the goal line and he kept a cool head to hold up the ball before providing Borriello with a simple tap-in.
Antonini was the provider of the fourth goal too, sending the ball deep into the penalty area where Borriello struck it acrobatically in off the far post from 15 yards.
A fifth goal followed, and it was yet another penalty for the home side with Marco Rossi this time holding Ronaldinho back illegally inside the area.
Beckham seemed to want to take the spot-kick, but Ronaldinho snatched the ball from him. In the end, captain Ambrosini had to step in, and he gave the ball to Huntelaar, who made no mistake from the spot.
Beckham left the field in the 75th minute to warm appreciation from the Milan fans.
Suazo grabbed a second goal for Genoa in the 79th minute, but the damage had already been done.

Pandev stars on debut

Serie A leaders Inter Milan picked up where they left off with a narrow victory over Chievo this lunchtime in the first match after the winter break.

Mario Balotelli netted the only goal of the game early on to lift the Nerazzurri 11 points clear of city rivals AC Milan.
As predicted, Goran Pandev was given his debut by Inter boss Jose Mourinho after signing from Lazio despite having been frozen out of the first-team picture at the Stadio Olimpico for the last four months.
But, after winning a ruling to have his contract with Lazio terminated just before Christmas, the 26-year-old found himself thrown straight into the action.
And he thought he had netted his first goal for the Serie A champions only 12 minutes into his debut.
The lively Sergio Pellissier, who had already drawn a save out of Julio Cesar, thought he should have had a penalty when he was bundled over in the Inter area but the referee waved play on and a speedy break from the visitors ended with Wesley Sneijder playing in Balotelli in acres of space.

The striker, who has been linked with a move away from the San Siro, saw his initial shot saved by Stefano Sorrentino.
He beat the keeper with his second effort, which was hacked away by Mario Yepes straight to Pandev, who headed the ball into the corner of the net.
However, replays confirmed the ball had already crossed the line and it was Balotelli's goal.
Maicon then drew a decent save from Sorrentino with a speculative effort from 30 yards but Patrick Vieira could not test the keeper from 20 yards as he sliced a shot horribly wide.
Diego Milito was the next to try his luck after he was cleverly played in by Maicon but, off balance, he could not direct his shot on target.
Twelfth-placed Chievo had their moments in the first half as well and Elvis Abbruscato stretched on the six-yard line but could only poke an effort that did not stretch Julio Cesar.
Sneijder was then denied by a last-ditch tackle from Yepes while defender Cristian Chivu, who has not scored for four years, embarked on a jinking run but his shot was deflected over.
From the resulting corner, Lucio's header was cleared off the line, although the referee decided the Brazilian was pushing his marker and blew for a foul.
There was a nasty clash of heads between Pellissier and Chivu in the opening seconds of the second half.
Chivu could not continue and was replaced by Marco Materazzi but a groggy Pellissier was able to carry on. The Romania defender was taken to hospital.
And the striker was then denied by Julio Cesar from Chievo's clearest opening. He controlled the ball well on his chest but could not get a clean shot away.
Abbruscato then had possibly an even better chance but, unmarked, he could only poke the ball past the post from close range.
Pandev earned a warm round of applause from the Inter fans when he was replaced by Ricardo Quaresma 67 minutes in.
Both sides struggled to create clear-cut chances from then on but Chievo felt hard done by in the last of six minutes of stoppage time when Quaresma appeared to punch the ball off Yepes' head in the area.
Their appeals for a penalty, though, fell on deaf ears and Inter held on.
