Manchester United confirm Kagawa deal

Manchester United have confirmed they have "agreed terms" for the transfer of Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund.

Dortmund midfielder Kagawa, 23, will join United this summer for a fee reportedly in the region of £16 million, subject to a medical and work permit.
It was reported at the end of May that the Red Devils were closing in on the capture of the Japan international after he was scouted by Sir Alex Ferguson.
A statement on United's official website read: "Manchester United is delighted to announce that it has agreed terms with both Borussia Dortmund and Shinji Kagawa for his transfer to the Club.

4/6/2012: Ghanaweb claims Kwadwo Asamoah's preferred option is to join United. The Udinese midfielder is pondering his future with Juventus already bidding for his services. There are no quotes attributed to the 23-year-old and the report stresses the level of Sir Alex's interest may not match that of his Italian suitors.

Reds legends beaten in Madrid

A team of United legends were beaten 3-2 by their Real Madrid counterparts in the Corazon Classic Match at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
The charity meeting, which benefited Real's Foundation academies in Africa, pitted famous names from the pasts of both clubs against one another, and the game began in entertaining fashion as Fernando Morientes put the hosts into the lead after seven minutes, only for Lee Sharpe to fire the Reds back on level terms within two minutes.

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has said he wants to move into coaching or management when his playing career comes to an end.

Ferdinand, 33, believes he would thrive on the responsibility of getting the best out of players and determining tactics.
The centre-back, who was left out of England's Euro 2012 squad, is expecting to be offered a new deal by United and feels he still has a few years of playing at the top level remaining.
